Check your hives for food stores. This has been an unusual winter with warmer than usual temps. We don’t recommend feeding sugar water until the dandelions bloom. Fondant or bakers sugar until then.

We’ll be discussing upcoming classes, online courses, ordering bees and hives, etc. Are you ready for swarm season? We’ll have various swarm catching vessels & bait hives.

What new ideas will you try out this spring? We’ll discuss using a double screen board for splitting hives. Bring your questions, concerns and successes.

Any kids, aged 8-18, who would like to get started in beekeeping should submit a scholarship application. Scholarship deadline is Sept. 15, 2026. This is for the 2027 beekeeping season.

If you would like to serve on the scholarship committee, please let me know. You don’t need to be a beekeeper but you shouldn’t be related to a scholarship applicant.
